I'm late to this macaron madness, but I'm obsessing enough to make up for lost time. I added 1T of lime zest to the shells and a pinch of ground lavender to the buttercream. I still recommend this recipe above all others. It's becoming a personal challenge to work out the (millions of) fuck-ups in my baking process... and since precision isn't hereditary, I'll probably be attempting a decent macaron for a while. Until then, some delicious images:

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I never really hopped on the macaron tray- I want my cookies to be dense, chewy, and full of chocolate chunks- but I can appreciate a perfectly zested lime and a lovely shot!
