I am always so flattered when kick ass gals accept an invitation to be a baker babe. Jessa is no exception. Three reasons why Jessa is rad: 1.) She is married to Christopher Robin and lives in The Thousand Acre Woods. AWESOME, right? 2.) She classifies herself as a "Grillin Gal" which is just as awesome as a "Baker Babe". 3.) She is a vintage connoisseur. Swoon. I want to quote her About Me because I feel like she says it SO well...
"I am a vintage shop owner, blogger, photography enthusiast, and self taught graphic designer living in California below the beautiful Yosemite Valley. I am a bit of a wildflower with a passion for discovery and a love of adventure no matter how big or how small."
She included a printable recipe for us so you can grill up your summer desserts... pretty sweet huh? Make sure to drop by and hi at her blog "Caked Vintage".

What was your earliest memory about baking? "I have honestly never been much of a baker although I am no stranger to a grill. I have always enjoyed watching my mother buzz around the kitchen creating things. I would have to say that sitting on the counter while licking the spoons from all of her scrumptious recipes would have to be my earliest and dearest memories."
Howd’ja get started baking? "I started baking when I realized I had married a boy who couldn't get enough of my sweet treats no matter how simple or extravagant. The fact that my baking brings a smile to his face is all the motivation I need."
When you picture “a baker” what do you see? "Someone who brings joy to others and gets enjoyment from doing so. A baker does not need to be a gourmet chef to be successful at her trade. Whether it be a mother baking for her children or a wife creating for her husband a baker is someone you will find greeting you with a smile and a tray of treats."
What qualities or skills does it take to be a baker? "I would have to say desire is all you need. If you love to bake you will find those who get the pleasure of devouring your treats will taste the love that went into them. Love is the simplest and most divine ingredient of all."
What was the biggest baking FAIL you ever had? "Oh dear... I have had many failed attempts in my day! The art of baking is not something that I would say comes "natural" to me. I would have to say the worse thing I've ever done is accidentally falling a sleep with an oven full of treats! Yikes..."
How do you feel about Martha Stewart? "Huh... she makes the cutest dog toys? That is about as deep as my relationship with her goes! I tend to avoid browsing through her things. It's not uncommon for me to feel obsolete next to her creations! Baking should be inspiring not undermining!"
Tell me something random that I don't already know: "I enjoying using items I find on The
Thousand Acre Woods (the ranch we live on) in my recipes. I will build
recipes around my discoveries like the wild mint that grows near the
river bed. A grill and nature is my kitchen!"
If you had to be an ingredient in a recipe, what would you be? "Fun question! I would have to say salt. Like salt, baking and I do not seem like the most natural of companions, but without it, it just wouldn't be the same! Baking is a, although small, a part of what makes me!"
Will you share your all time favorite recipe with us? "Yes! Like I mentioned in the beginning I am more of a Grillin Gal than a Baker Babe and there is nothing I enjoy more than pairing the two for some wonderfully delightful treats! One of my favorites is Grilled Strawberry Shortcake."

MAN I love that photo with the apron and the shortcake. Love as in I kind of want it to be my laptop wallpaper. But that would just be creepy. Thanks Jessa for participating and being so sweet. Baker or not you will ALWAYS be a babe.
xoxo
