BAD DAY? TRY THIS

I have a suggestion for the days you cant shake the funk: googly eye ALL OF THE THINGS. It only takes a handful of eyes, tape, and a few minutes. And it's hilarious.

And if you're REALLY hurtin', try taking self portraits like this:

If that doesn't help (and you already looked at this!), I would prescribe making iced coffee, listening to "Here Comes the Sun", petting some cats, and browsing Color Me Katie. Off to do that right now! What makes your bad days better?

  3. A delicious coffee and reading, whether that be a book, magazines or blogs, can always brighten my mood.

  4. For some reason that first photo reminds me of Larry the Cucumber from Veggie Tales.

  6. I love a hot bath (or a cool one it was 112 here today), a glass of wine, and a good book. This did brighten my mood though!

  8. That rules. Have you ever seen the SNL skit with Christopher Walken as the man that is deathly afraid of plants? He puts googly eyes on them. It's amazing, like you, Jes.

  9. I think Google just ate my reply. Anyhoooo... This rules, and it is in fact quite effective, Jes. Also, it reminded me of the epic SNL skit with Christopher Walken as the man that is deathly afraid of plants so he puts googly eyes on all of the plants in his greenhouse. Utterly amazing. Look it up when you have a chance.

  10. I look at pictures of my daughter (If I'm sad over her, I cry a little.), then I hug my doggy, and get back to work.

  11. people make my days better, but dogs are just the best creatures of comfort for me and if I only had a stable life, I would get a dog immediately :-)

  13. When I'm having a bad day I just remind myself that it's the perfect excuse to go out and buy myself a fancy treat somewhere. Almost always a cupcake!

  16. Love the google eyes! If I'm having a bad day I read books on the Holocaust. It puts things in perspective really fast.

  17. That's...amazing.

I can when I have a bad day. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I end up with jam at the end of it so it's all good.

  18. I'd put googly eyes on everything even on a good day. Because, honestly, look at these photos, they're the best things ever.
I'd say the my best bad day thing is to watch an animated movie, read something that makes me unbearably happy, and window shop on the internet!

  21. I'm a huge fan of color me katie! My sister's obsessed with googly eyes but now that I've moved to a different state I may need to buy some! I'm also a big fan of cutting out people's faces from magazines and hiding them in different places (under the toilet seat, on door knobs, in wall corners etc.)

  23. My desk sports Googly eyes right this minute. I think I will superglue them on as a reminder for whoever gets my desk after I am (inevitably) fired/get my dream job/possibly die on it that the previous owner was a funky freak bitch and by the way the DESK IS TOTALLY WATCHING YOU.

  25. Unfortunately, aside from the selfie, this would not work on people with OCD. I know I'd just end up obsessing over remembering to clean them up later on. Guess I'd have to stick to smiling over googly eye vandalism pictures over the internet. :)

  28. Oh, man... I LOVE this! I would have loved to have 'decorated' our neighbor's house while they were away. He was a great joker... we've moved. But, the next time we visit I'm coming with googly eyes and double-stick tape!
    Thanks for the smile today!
