WHERE HAVE I BEEN, YOU ASK?

It's been a little quiet here at The Militant Baker, hasn't it? I suppose you're wondering what I've been up to. No? Oh... well I'm gonna tell you what I've doing anyways. It's your lucky day!

I've been painting. When I overhauled my room, it left a lot of room for my easel next to the big windows. Acrylic therapy is what I've been practicing and it is SUCH a cathartic release. My brain likes it.

I've been taking care of business. I'm checking off my "Have To Get Done" list and it feels awesome.

I've been learning how to cook whole grains. I found out that my diet has to change immediately because I've somehow developed severe GERD. It's an ugly and crass sounding thing, but it's forced me to rededicate myself to a healthy diet... so that I'm not in constant pain! I'm looking forward to feeling better, but it's going to take a lot of budgeting, planning, cooking and general work. My Him is also committed, so that makes it a little easier.

I've been doing a shit ton of photography and graphic/web design. I just branded my work for a new campaign and did all the original photography, web design, flyers, posters, text, etc. Pretty fucking impressive.

I've been watching Rainbow Brite. We picked up some VHS and spent the morning eating cereal and giggling like 5 year olds.

I've been enjoying a three day date weekend with my Him. We've been especially silly these past few days and are enjoying movies, evening walks, ice cream, kitties, cooking, road trips, poodle puppies, and errand running together. It nice to have someone you love that you can spend all of your minutes with.

I've been researching natural health alternatives. I used to work in a health food store and what I learned there has had residual benefits... I'm cashing in on them again to improve my mood, energy, and general well being.

I've been catching up with good friends that I don't see nearly enough. I know an incredible amount of incredible women and collaborating with them over photos, ideas, or even just beer is so good for my soul.

And, of course, if you recognize the above picture, you would know that my Him and I have been championing through every Breaking Bad episode and just watched the finale tonight. It is and will always be my all time favorite show.

Tell me one... at least one thing that you've been up to!

  3. I've not been as busy as you, but I've recently been having a lovely lunch with friends, organizing my embroidery floss (it took me one whole day!!!) and learning to make Sangria.

P.S.: Hope your GERD is manageable, It does not sound like a lot of fun (though the experimenting with food does!).

Also: Love me some Rainbow Brite! ha!

AND: I’ve given you the “Liebster Blog Award.” I’m sure you probably have a bazillion of these things. So just toss it in your pile, and give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. ;)
